Irene Bailey has been an Insurance Agent and Financial Advisor since 1978.
Irene is a member of the Toronto Estate Planning Council, and served as President in 2003-2004, and is also a member of the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriters.
Irene was formerly a Trustee of the Chartered Life Underwriters & Chartered Financial Consultants. She was the first female President of the Chartered Life Underwriters’ Toronto chapter, the second-largest chapter in the world. She was only the third woman in Canada to appear on the 15-year Honour Roll.
Her civic interests include being one of eight founding members of the Women Entrepreneurs of Canada in 1991, and President-elect of the Association of Women Executives and Entrepreneurs. Having led the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir for 10 years as President and Chair, she was also active with the Toronto Business Development Centre, the Canadian Women’s Foundation and LEAF (Women's Legal Education and Action Fund).
In 1992 Irene was nominated for the “Women Who Make A Difference” award and for the inaugural “Canadian Women Entrepreneur of the Year” award.
Prior to her work at Performance Index Inc., Irene started life as an officer in the Women's Royal Air Force in England (click here for proof!). As a mature student, she graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Leeds. From there, she became a teacher.
Personal interests
An avid singer, Irene sings with the Oakham House Choir of Ryerson University in Toronto, ON, and in 2015 took part in a production of ‘Apocolypsis’ at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. In addition to being a lover of theatre and opera, she is also a keen Scottish country dancer and is part of two dance groups in the city.
For recreation, Irene greatly enjoys golf and is a member of Summit Golf Club in Richmond Hill, ON. She also loves biking and skiing, although after frightening herself during a heli-skiing expedition will happily stick to cross-country from now on!
Irene is a passionate traveler, and recently traveled to visit the orangutans in the jungles of Borneo on a riverboat – by herself! Click here to see a collection of photos Irene took during her trip.
After running a successful Toronto-based renovation company for more than 20 years, Sean has brought his skills in building personal relationships and in mathematics to the financial services industry. He works in tandem with Irene to help clients achieve their goals.
Sean was educated in the United Kingdom, in Toronto and at Queen's University in Kingston, ON.
On a personal level, Sean enjoys keeping fit by swimming, and skiing, and is a very keen golfer. He's also recently taken up curling with encouraging success, perhaps and indication that he's inherited the Scottish family skill.
He's an accomplished artist, skilled in the use of oil and acrylic paints. His other artistic pursuits include playing the guitar, which he has done since he was a teenaged member of a band that rehearsed in the basement of the Bailey household - and in the process greatly endeared himself to family members, neighbours and pets.

Prior to working with Irene, Lesa-Marie worked in the Operations Departments with Raymond James, GMP Securities, CI Investments and AIC Mutual Funds. Lesa also worked as an Assistant at Berkshire Financial as an Executive Assistant to a V. P. at Raymond James Ltd.
